Dog Walking
Dog Walking
Dog walking is a great way to provide your four legged friend with exercise, socialisation and lots of fun! Dogs love nothing more than exploring new and exciting environments. Our group dog walking service in Brighton & surrounding areas provides them with the chance to exercise while being looked after by a professional dog walker. We visit a variety of locations from beaches, woods, parks, lakes and, of course, the South Downs. Your pet will be collected from your home and taken on a one hour group walk where they will get lots of opportunities to run, chase, play and enjoy themselves with their other doggy friends.
Group Walks
if your dog enjoys socialising and playing with other dogs then this is the perfect option for you! Dogs love being part of a pack and with no more than six dogs per walk, we ensure they still receive plenty of individual attention.
One to One Walks
Some dogs that are more timid or prefer to be walked alone benefit from a one to one walk. They would get all of the walker’s attention and can feel at ease exploring the local landscapes, whilst still having plenty of fun and exercise. This can be on or off lead.
What are the benefits of regular exercise?
A regular dog walk is vitally important for your pet’s health. Obesity in pets is associated with a number of medical conditions including osteoarthritis, cardiovascular disease and liver disease. Most dogs need to be walked at least once each day, though some dogs, particularly very active dogs, may require more. The breed of dog you have, as well as its level of fitness and age, will also determine how long and how vigorous your walk should be. A walk can make a dog very happy. They love to check out the sights and smells and will really look forward to spending time with us. A dog that doesn’t receive sufficient exercise can easily become frustrated and destructive.

Happiness Starts With “Walkies”
Barker’s will only walk your dogs in safe environments and away from traffic and other potential hazards. Living on the South Coast, and with the Downs right on our doorstep, we have access to plenty of beautiful walks. Dogs are always walked on the lead unless the owner completes a consent form beforehand. We always perform a long lead recall test before any are allowed off the lead. During and after the walk fresh water will be provided. Group socialising and bonding are highly encouraged along with play and some fun recall training. Post walk muddy paws get towelled down before being delivered back home for a well deserved rest. (For an additional small fee you can opt for a shampoo and dry).
